You’re planning your perfect sailing holiday and don’t want to leave your four-legged friend behind? Don’t worry. Zizoo has put together all the information you need about sailing with cats and dogs in order to make your next sailing holiday an unforgettable experience for the whole family – human and otherwise. Because one thing is for sure: sailing with pets is not only possible, it’s fun!

Introduce your pet to the boat gradually

Introduce your pet to the boat gradually, starting with short trips and gradually increasing the duration of the trips. This will help your pet become accustomed to the motion of the boat. Familiarize your pet with the various sounds and smells of the boat. This can help reduce anxiety and stress during the trip.

Before you leave

Travel regulations for animals vary from country to country so make sure to inform yourself ahead of time about the necessary documentation as well as the regulations about animal quarantine in your chosen travel destination. It’s best to contact the local authorities for this information. With as many people opting for the different profiles of veterinary jobs available, you can get in touch with any one of them, and clear all your doubts, before you set to set to sail with your pet.

If you’re traveling in Europe, for example, you will need a pet passport which needs to be signed by an officially approved veterinary surgeon.

You should also make sure that your pet is microchipped, as this is a requirement in almost every country.

Sailing with Pets

Take care to keep your pet’s vaccination record up to date and plan ahead if you think your pet might need additional vaccines.

Sailing with pets is easily done but it’s advisable to start planning early, as vaccines and applying for documentation can take a while.

Before booking a boat for your sailing holiday, ask your charter agency whether they welcome animals on board or whether you need to plan with certain extra costs.

Safety on board when sailing with pets

If your pet is active, and depending on weather conditions, it might be advisable to secure the outside of the boat with a net.

Furthermore, cats and dogs should always wear life jackets on board (as should their owners, of course).

You can also use a harness if it’s too warm outside for your animal to wear a vest. That way your pet will be more comfortable and you can still easily help it out of the water. You can get different harnesses for different dogs so make sure you get a suitable harness that fits securely. Check out www.jugdog.co.uk to look at the pros and cons of various harnesses.

When choosing a pet flotation device, there are a few things you should consider:

  1. Size: Make sure the flotation device fits your pet properly. It should be snug enough to stay in place, but not so tight that it restricts movement or causes discomfort.
  2. Buoyancy: The flotation device should provide enough buoyancy to keep your pet afloat in the water.
  3. Visibility: Choose a flotation device that is brightly colored or has reflective strips, so your pet is easy to spot in the water.
  4. Durability: The flotation device should be made of high-quality materials that can withstand rough conditions.
  5. Ease of use: Look for a flotation device that is easy to put on and take off, and that has adjustable straps to ensure a secure fit.
  6. Comfort: Make sure the flotation device is comfortable for your pet to wear.

Toilet

Going to the toilet on the high seas can be especially tricky for dogs. Think about constructing a special dog toilet, like a patch of fake lawn or a cat toilet filled with sand.

Try and acquaint your dog with this new technique at home, so it will feel comfortable from the minute it sets foot on board.

If you think this isn’t an option for your pet, plan shorter sailing trips of around 3-5 hours so that your dog can comfortably go on land. Even though cats have it significantly easier, please remember that you should place the cat toilet below deck where it is more stable.

Sun protection and sea sickness

Animals can get seasick on a sailing holiday, just like us humans. Make sure that there are always enough shaded areas onboard for your pet to take a rest, and that there is always fresh water available.

It’s easier on your pet’s stomach if you halve food portions. There are many remedies available (even from human medicine) should your four-legged friend still become sick. Ask your favorite vet about putting together a little first-aid kit!

Further tips for sailing with pets

Playing on the beach and in the water can be a real treat, especially for dogs. But remember that even on board, when the rest of the family is relaxing in the sun, your little one shouldn’t be allowed to get bored.

So pack enough toys and make sure that your pet is always occupied.

Sailing with Pets

Create a little personal corner on the boat where your cat or dog can feel safe if they want to relax during your sailing holiday. Put some blankets or toys from home in this corner, so that your pet will feel as comfortable as possible.

Wally announces the launch of its new wally101 Full Custom, which took place on Saturday, April 22nd in Marina di Ravenna (Italy). This cruiser racer is inspired by the celebrated Wallycento box-rule design and its maxi racer potential along with comfortable cruising.

“Following Baron D, Nahita and the Wally 144 Full Custom of the last few years, this is the 48th full-carbon sailing superyacht built by Wally, continuing the company’s remarkable contribution to the advancement of sailing design and technology.,” says Stefano de Vivo, Wally Managing Director. Launching a fully custom 101-footer is a great milestone for us, which demonstrates once again the ability of Wally and Ferretti Group to always place themselves at the forefront, even in the competitive market of sailing superyachts“.

“I’m extremely proud of the results achieved with the wally101 Full Custom. The light ship displacement is just 55 tons, almost 15% less than yachts of similar size and configuration, and with 40% of the total weight placed in the keel”, adds Luca Bassani, Wally Founder and Chief Designer. ”This achievement is accomplished thanks to the latest carbon fiber technology pioneered and developed over the years by Wally, using a high-tech sandwich composite with pre-preg carbon fiber”.

Judel/vrolijk & co. has provided the yacht’s naval architecture alongside exterior and interior design from Wally’s sailing design team led by Luca Bassani and Studio Santa Maria Magnolfi. The new full custom yacht features the Wally Enhanced Hydraulic System comprising multiple hydraulic pumps technology to further speed up sail handling. The lifting keel increases the draft from 4.70m to an extraordinary 6.80m, for unparalleled upwind performance.

The new wally101 Full Custom can easily reach high performance at all speeds and in all configurations.  When not sailing, the 425hp engine will provide a top speed of 11.5 knots.

This cruiser racer combines a high-performance platform with a family-friendly exterior and interior layout. The yacht’s deck plan features an amidships cockpit with a table seating up to eight and an aft sunbathing area for ultimate relaxation. The owner’s cabin has an ensuite bathroom and a walk-in wardrobe. Two further ensuite cabins complete the guest accommodation for six, and the saloon includes a living and dining area with seating for up to 10-12. The service area is comprised of a crew mess, laundry, galley and two ensuite cabins for four crew.

Cantiere del Pardo releases the first official shots of the brand-new Grand Soleil 72 Performance, the flagship of the Grand Soleil fleet. The photoshoot took place in Capri, in front of the world-renowned Amalfi Coast, featuring crystal clear waters that further enhance the elegant lines of such an amazing boat. Capri has been carefully selected as the backdrop of this new model, a truly stunning location recognized by UNESCO as a world heritage site. The Capri’s Faraglioni, with plunging sheer cliffs and the Sorrento rocky coastline, offers a variety of breathtaking views.

The debut of the Grand Soleil 72 not only introduces the new model but also intends to announce the launch of a whole new range of sailing yachts above 60 feet. The Grand Soleil 72 represents the first yacht of this segment. This new range is developed by Cantiere del Pardo, with Franco Corazza as Project Manager, Matteo Polli in charge of the naval architecture and Nauta Design for interior and deck design.

The new flagship of the Grand Soleil fleet was presented as World Première at the Cannes Yachting Festival 2022 getting significant interest from international clients.

Grand Soleil 72 Performance – The deck

Behind the scene of Grand Soleil 72

A unique project developed by Cantiere del Pardo, in collaboration with some of the most relevant names of the Italian sailing panorama: Franco Corazza, Matteo Polli, Nauta Design, and Marco Lostuzzi. All internationally recognized for outstanding projects in the nautical field signed Made in Italy.

The Shipyard’s craftsmanship and experience gained over the last 50 years are not only limited to developing excellent aesthetic lines but also to care about technical details of all those areas where the eye does not normally reach. First, among many, all the composite bulkheads in the interior are weighed one by one while defining the thickness of each ad hoc to optimize strength, lightness and performance.

For those who love technical details, the Grand Soleil 72 hull lines designed by Matteo Polli are featured by a prominent V-shaped bow. The significant dynamic length, thanks to slips and low wetted surface, allows the stern to be eased for reduced friction of the submerged sections when sailing. This traduces in higher dynamic speed and stability when the boat is heeled, promising not only better performance in light wind conditions, typically the Mediterranean area, but also excellent sailing ease and safety.

Grand Soleil 72 Performance – The interiors

The hull is made through an epoxy-based vacuum infusion process of vinylester resin into biaxial fiberglass and unidirectional carbon fabrics, resulting in a light and strong hull. In addition, the most stressed hull sections, such as longitudinal and transversal structures are laminated in fiberglass and stiffened by carbon reinforcements to boost strength and rigidity.

The Interiors design developed by the highly appreciated Nauta Design perfectly connects with the geometries of the deck. Nauta conceived, designed and refined the volumes and details of the deck to makethe most out of every single space, achieving a coherent and holistic relationship among them.

The interiors, dimensions, ergonomics, storage, functions and quality of all accessories are up to super yacht standards. The design and colors used in the interiors translate into a tasteful, elegant, and welcoming mood.

The ClubSwan 80 My Song is the product of a truly international team born on the drawing tables at Nautor Swan, from Juan-K design and CFD development, built by Persico Marine, with Nauta for the interior design, Vittorio Volontè  as project manager, Pure Engineering (composite structure), Scott Ferguson (Rig design), Southern Spars (Rig development), North Sails (Sails development).

You don’t expect a brand-new boat with a newbie race crew to put in a podium finish on their first competitive outing. And yet that is just what My Song, the achingly sleek new ClubSwan 80 has achieved.

The feat is made all the more impressive by the fact that it came in the teeth of some of the toughest big-boat competition in the world, at the Maxi Yacht Rolex Cup. And then, to demonstrate that it was not a question of luck, My Song repeated the trick the following week in a blustery Swan Cup.

Juan K commented “ClubSwan 80 is a One Design and the notion of it is related to have high-performance boats, which are also the lightest, and from this platform there is a series of interiors and features that can be added on. Working together as a team we’ve managed to have both performance and comfort coexisting according to the use of the boat, and that is very exciting” says Juan K. “My Song was only launched in June, a dream in carbon fibre with a canting keel and a forward rotating canard”.

Mario Pedol of design studio Nauta added: “Despite very little experience of the yacht, they took a first and a third place on different days of the Maxi Yacht Rolex Cup. We couldn’t be happier!

My Song’s owner, the hugely experienced maxi sailor and industrialist Pier Luigi Loro Piana, was thrilled. “This boat has been a labour of love played out over three years. Not a day has gone by when I haven’t intervened in the project directly. Just to step aboard this beautiful yacht now is a delightbut to make two podium finishes in our first regattas shows there is exceptional potential here.

Ken Read, President, North Sails and tactician on CS80 during the Maxi Yacht Rolex Cup, added: “Sailing aboard the new ClubSwan 80 at the Maxi Yacht Rolex Cup was a fantastic experience. She turned heads, surprised a lot of people, and for a brand-new boat exceeded my very lofty expectations.

The pedigree is standard for the collaboration between Juan K, Nautor and all of the suppliers like the three companies I represent – North Sails, Southern Spars and Future Fibres. A great blend of style and speed. Great things expected for this design. Simply awesome to personally be involved.”

ClubSwan 80 My Song stunning first performance

Hopes were high on the first day of the six-day Maxi Yacht Rolex Cup, held in ideal 15- to 22-knot conditions off Porto Cervo. The boat was designed after many hours of complex CFD calculations and looks every inch the racer. But her promise wasn’t confirmed until the helm bore away at the top mark and the huge asymmetric billowed into life.

At that point we were all spellbound,” says Nauta’s Mario Pedol, who was racing aboard that day. “We were looking at the instruments in disbelief, then watching as our boat overhauled one, then two, then numerous of the bigger yachts as we planed downwind. I don’t think an all-Italian crew has ever remained silent for so long!

My Song posted a strong third place in the first race of the regatta, and that set the tone for the rest of the event. The high point came on the final day, when a building wind propelled the boats round a 27-nautical-mile coastal course that ducked into the Maddalena archipelago, then off on a long southerly leg downwind. In this endurance race, My Song took a resounding first place.

Giorgio Benussi, ClubSwan 80 – My Song team manager commented: “The brand new CS80 is a game changer, no question! Down into the water in racing trim and with our full crew just a week before the prestigious Maxi Yacht Rolex Cup, where we competed against extra ordinary opponents. At the start of the first race, when we finally jumped into the fray, we realised that what we imagined could come true. The CS80 has extraordinary potential; the conception, design and construction process can be turned into a solid, concrete success. We were competitive in handicap despite the canting keel/canard configuration. The performance – taken for granted in the off the wind legs – was just as good on the wind and the boat was easy to handle with a crew of only 18.”

Her performance the following week in the Rolex Swan Cup was perhaps even more remarkable. In a seven-strong fleet that ran up to 115ft LOA, My Song scored three second place finishes in four races. And had she been 33 seconds quicker on day three, she would have taken second place overall. As it was, she settled for an electrifyingly close third. It is the best possible start for the ClubSwan 80.

Best of both worlds

Several months were spent at the start of the project pondering different options for the hull and appendages of the boat.  Foils and fixed keels were quickly discarded in favour of the canting keel and rotating canard, because it provided the best balance of performance and usability.

Once the optimum configuration had been agreed, the Nauta team set about designing an interior that would fulfil the requirements of comfortable cruising without sacrificing speed on the racecourse. They left nothing to chance, carefully weighing up the performance effect of every decision, and the result is eye-opening.

Interior furniture of ClubSwan 80 My Song has been built in a mixture of foam-cored carbon fibre and flax fibre composite, and can be quickly and easily removed when necessary. Beds, seating, the oven, toilet and even the aircon can all be taken ashore to lighten the boat for racing. Wardrobes have all been designed as lightweight mesh fabric bags that hang from bars built into the side of the boat, and can also be quickly removed. Two people can transform the boat from racing to cruising mode or back again in just two days.

The 2022 Rolex Swan Cup signed-off in style on Sunday with deciding races across all the classes settling the final positions after a week of intense but friendly racing.

Teams competing in the four ClubSwan One-Design classes settled matters with two closely fought windward-leeward races, while the varied and diverse 56-strong fleet of Swans taking part in the Rating classes took on a long coastal race around the La Maddalena archipelago, taking in the islands of Santo Stefano, Caprera and La Maddalena itself.

The level of competition across all classes was self-evident, from the Maxi Rating class of 100ft-plus racers, through the one-design classes and all the way to the 22-strong Swan Grand Prix class and the Classic S&S division including the Swan 36 Josian, the smallest yacht taking part.

Freya wins Maxi class ahead of Plis-Play and new ClubSwan 80 My Song

Nowhere was the competitive element clearer than in the Rating classes, and no more so than in the Maxi class where the Swan 90 Freya took the class on countback from Vincente Torres’ Swan 80 Plis-Play, both edging out Pierluigi Loro Piana’s brand new ClubSwan 80 My Song.

The first two races were in lighter winds, and we came 3rd and 3rd,” said Freya’sowner Donald Macpherson. “In the stronger wind yesterday we finished first, and today Plis-Play was ahead of us to start with, but the breeze built and we gained on him and ultimately overtook him, so we are very, very happy.”

And he added: “Success in sailing, the Rolex Swan Cup, Porto Cervo, the YCCS – there’s nothing better. We are absolutely thrilled and so happy.

Swan 601s top Mini Maxi table as Italian trio take over Classic S&S podium and Germany takes Grand Prix pole

The podium in the Mini Maxi class was closed out by a trio of Swan 601s, with Stephen Cucchiaro’s Flow taking a clean sweep of four victories to win ahead of Arobas and Les Amis.

In the Classic S&S Class Vincenzo Onorato’s 1974 Swan 38 Mascalzone Latino XXXIII finished a point ahead of fellow Italian Giuseppe’s Swan 65 Shirlaf, with the Swan 36 Josian – also flying the tricolour of Italy – completing the podium.

Josian was also awarded with the prestigious Rod Stephens Swan Challenge Trophy for the best-performing original set-up S&S Swan.

In the large Swan Grand Prix class Germany’s Swan 53 Crilia, owned by Dr Heinz Gerd and Dr Christoph Stein, was a clear winner 10 points ahead of Shahid Hamid’s Swan 58 OM II and Jan Oplander’s Swan 54 Katima.

Eight races, seven different winners in ClubSwan 50 contest

Among the 15 ClubSwan 50 contenders competition was fierce, with seven different winners in eight races.

At the end of the final race, in which they posted a highly untypical 12th place, Louis Balcaen’s Balthasar was proudly on top of the table four points clear of August Schram’s Stella Maris, who in turn pipped the double world champion Hatari by a single point.

A delighted Balcaen said: “It’s a great feeling and I must thank the team because they are just incredible. We have so much fun on the boat and it’s the perfect balance between performance and fun.

Here, simply put, it’s the best sailing in the world and we had great conditions, a little bit too much wind at times so we couldn’t sail every day, but still we had four days of glamorous sailing.

Match race settles ClubSwan 36 duel

From the opening day the uber-competitive ClubSwan 36 class saw the Monaco flagged G Spot – helmed by owner Giangiacomo Serena – locked in an even duel with Lorenzo Mondo’s Farstar.

Going into the deciding race tied on 14 points and well clear of the chasing pack, the finale turned into a match race, with G-Spot just edging the contest while Haakon Lorentzen’s Mamao took her third win of the regatta to take the final podium place.

It’s the first Rolex Swan Cup that we have won, but it is also the first that I have participated in, so it has had a really big effect on my heart,” said Serena. “We have been together for seven years now and the crew is like a second family – they are great professionals becoming close friends of mine now.

It was a close battle with Farstar but we are getting used to that. At the last regatta we were fighting until the last day against them, it’s difficult to beat them because they are really good sailors.

ClubSwan 42 Nadir makes it three in a row

As ever, the ClubSwan 42 class also showed enormous competitive spirit, with Pedro Vaquer’s Nadir – winner at both Copa Del Rey and the Swan One Design Worlds – making it three in a row ahead of Massimo De Campo’s Selene-Alifax and Pit Finis’ Dralion.

We enjoyed it very much,” said Vaquer. “We were last here in 2018 and we are very happy to be back. Our team has been great, we work well together, and this has been a dream season as we have won all the events we have been to.

Blue Sky’s winning streak to Swan 45 success

Meanwhile Claudio Terrieri’s Blue Sky posted five consecutive bullets to establish an unassailable lead in the Swan 45 class in front of Georgios Petrochilos’ Ex Officio and Stefano Masi’s Ulika.

However it wasn’t as clear cut as it looked said Terrieri: “It’s wonderful to win here in Porto Cervo in amazing conditions. We did a lot of jobs during the year to improve the boat speed and we arrived here with some new tuning and new sails, and the upwind speed was the difference between us and the other boats.

The crew worked very, very well, and if you look at the results it looks easy, but it was a tight competition – we were never running away and we were always under pressure. It was difficult, but we were consistent and maybe that was the difference in the end.

Germany repeats The Nations League success

The performance of yachts – including the ClubSwan 50s Hatari and Earlybird – helped Germany to the top of The Nations League 2022 table, repeating their success of last year. Italy again took second place, with Monaco completing the podium after edging out Austria and Belgium, who finished only a point apart after the season-long competition concluded in Porto Cervo.

Nautor Swan promise ‘something spectacular’ for 2023

Highlights of the exclusive social events during the week included the Owners’ Dinner at the Yacht Club Costa Smeralda, the event co-organiser alongside Nautor Swan, with a spectacular light show performance and limited-edition gifts for the owners by Salvatore Ferragamo, the Rolex Dinner Party at the refined Colonna Pevero Hotel, and the Final Prize Giving in the YCCS Regatta Village.

Speaking at the prize giving Nautor Swan Chairman Leonardo Ferragamo said: “I really want to thank so many people for making this week so spectacular, another milestone in the history of this great cooperation between Yacht Club Costa Smeralda, Rolex and Nautor Swan which has run for well over 40 years. It is the people behind the scenes that really make this event happen. Thank you so much everyone.”

And he added, to applause: “So many of you have said ‘why do we have to wait two years before getting together again in this great event?’ So, we have received the message and it’s become an objective of ours to work on proposing something spectacular for the Grand Prix and the Maxi Swan yachts during the course of next year.

The Rolex Swan Cup marks the conclusion of the 2022 Swan One Design season, though the ClubSwan 36s will compete in their own European Championships in Croatia next month.

The full season kicked-off at the Swan Tuscany Challenge back in April, with the focus then switching to the Swan Sardinia Challenge at the end of May. The Swan One Design Worlds followed in July, with Valencia the host port, before the iconic Copa Del Rey in Palma set the scene for the Rolex Swan Cup finale.

EWOL announces its new technological creation: EnergyMatic. EnergyMatic is a propeller for sailing yachts, specifically to facilitate putting the propeller (blades) in the feathered variable-pitch and thus offer minimal resistance under sail on boats with hydraulic or electric propulsion.

Thanks to its internal “automatic return to the feathered variable-pitch” mechanism, EnergyMatic positions itself with minimal resistance even without the need to stop the shaft. This means that it is no longer necessary to switch off the engine and engage reverse gear to significantly increase sailing speed, with a range of 0.5 to 1.5 knots.

Another winning feature of the EnergyMatic is its “Charging” position, which turns the propulsion line into a “Hydro-generator”, i.e., it not only safeguards the batteries but also “recharges” them very efficiently. This is an essential feature for boats with 100% electric or hybrid propulsion or with an alternator connected to the shaft; these boats will therefore be able to recharge their batteries simply by sailing in “Recharge” mode, i.e. by letting the propeller itself function as an electric turbine and generate a considerable amount of energy while sailing.

EnergyMatic is a lightweight, high-performance, high-tech propeller that allows the pitch to be altered to increase motor cruising speed and aids manoeuvrability during mooring manoeuvres. Moreover, like the other EWOL propellers, it is made entirely of stainless steel to maximise mechanical strength, resistance to galvanic corrosion and product reliability over time.

EnergyMatic is an exceptional “patent pending” solution from EWOL, a company known and respected worldwide for the quality, reliability and innovative technology of its products.

The Swan 55 makes the debut at Cannes Yachting Festival 2022, together with her bigger sisters, the Swan 58, which was introduced to the world last year, and the Swan 78 with a grey hull.

Designed by Germàn Frers interior design by Misa Poggi, the new Swan 55 represents a new generation of hull design developed over the past couple of years with the assistance of the latest tools available today to study the behavior of the canoe body in all sailing conditions.

This latest iteration of the Swan 55 model Line represents a new generation of hull design developed over the past couple of years with the assistance of tools available today to study the behavior of the canoe body in all sailing conditions“, declares Germàn Frers.

These are hulls with a powerful back end that attain maximum sailing length and low resistance while heeled thus the lowest possible displacement/length ratio and they provide excellent balance through the range of heel angles in combination with the well-proven twin rudder set up.

When designing the bow sections which are well rounded transversally and have a sharp entry angle, we have favored the sailing condition and comfortable ride when heeled.

The hull displacement is the result of a thorough study of weight and the position of the equipment onboard. These boats need to carry a fair amount of equipment for the comfort of the people living and enjoying life on board. However, the speed will be very good all around.

Swan 55, the deck

The deck is the most important area on a sailing yacht – the place for controlling the yacht at sea as well as relaxing at anchor or in harbour, for enjoying the fun of sailing in pleasant weather and also conquering thrilling heavy storms while remaining safe and sheltered.

Swans have always been designed to take the deck and its organization into great account. From the very first yacht in the late 60’s, every Swan has a deck optimized in every detail for efficient, safe and enjoyable sailing and living aboard in great comfort, be it underway, at anchor or in marinas. Today our yachts show a hallmark deck organization, with well-separated areas for handling the boat while sailing and living comfortably in all possible situations, be it sunbathing, dining or swimming. Great care is also given to proper protection both from adverse weather and from sun with well-designed sprayhoods, biminis and awnings.

The new Swan 55 is perfectly in line with this ethos, adding in some new innovations that enhance livability stili further in the cockpit and transom areas, like the “transformer” tables or the extra-long swimming platform, an exclusive new feature on a yacht of this size, which enhances the livability of this area, resulting in a proper beach area derived from superyachts.

Shorthanded cruising is facilitated by five equally specified winches, all-electric as standard, positioned to allow a single crew member to handle the boat alone. The hallmark design of the coamings protecting the benches results in an extra-wide cockpit area, where the twin “transformer” tables offer a variety of setups, from lunch to sunbathing to “pouffe” position. Ahead of the mast, a wide sunbathing area integrated into the coachroof offers the proper shape for the self-tacking track, designed for the staysail but suitable for the jib as well. More forward, a large, deep locker is dedicated to sail and voluminous gear storage.

Swan 55, the interiors

The interior has been designed having maximum comfort in mind for long periods, both under sail and at anchor. For style and finishing the new Swan 55 features four different moods: Swan Soul which embodies the typical Swan ambiance, Scandi Vision for a more northern atmosphere, Blue Genoa paying homage to the colours of the ocean and more traditional seafaring and Velvet Vibe for a more passionate owner.

The saloon and galley are designed for maximum livability and social interaction but also to be functional and practical while under sail. The organization of the spaces allows an additional utility cabin dedicated to storage or this can be converted into a crew cabin with an enclosed head and a sink.

The saloon has a C-shaped sofa with a central table to port while the starboard area including the chart table can be configured into three different layouts according to the owner’s needs.

During the Cannes Yachting Festival 2022 (September 6-11), Grand Soleil Yachts will unveil two new models: the Grand Soleil 72 Performance and the Grand Soleil 40 Performance.

Grand Soleil 72 Performance

Grand Soleil 72

Grand Soleil 72 Performance will be unveiled for the first time in the waters of Port Canto in Cannes. The new 72-footer is going to be the result of a totally Made in Italy design process, with a team of professionals representing Italian excellence in the nautical sector. The team was guided by the goal of creating a boat with an avowedly Italian aesthetic, elegant and modern design, and high comfort ergonomics both on deck and inside. From the meticulousness of the construction processes to the quality controls of every single part of the boats, even today it is the people and their knowledge handed down within the shipyard that guarantee the reliability of the Grand Soleil brand.

Grand Soleil 40 Performance

Grand soleil 40

The second World Première signed by Grand Soleil Yachts is the Grand Soleil 40 Performance: the new model from Grand Soleil Yachts has all the credentials to replicate the great success of the GS 44, winner of the last ORC World Championship, while maintaining the family feeling of the range between style, elegance, ergonomics and safety.

The new Grand Soleil 40, once again bears the signature of Matteo Polli and Nauta Design, already responsible for the exterior and interior design of the previous Grand Soleil models. The lines of the hull and the naval architecture of the Grand Soleil 40 maintain the strong vocation for performance, but without sacrificing volumes to the advantage of space and comfort on board.

The result of a synergy between Nauta Design (interior & exterior design) and the Shipyard’s Technical Office, which bring a boat with clean and functional layouts into the water in the internal and external areas.
